Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
I'm sorry about your dog dying
I know the feeling of loosing a loved pet.
I've been through it four times in my life.
By feeling bad just goes to show you that you are a warm caring person .
My last cat "Whiley " died about 2 1/2 years ago . I was very upset for a while , but .... ..well we go on....
Just like this stupid divorce stuff . we go on ...
If I knew that I was staying in my house here , I would get another cat from a shelter, but ..Ohhhhhhh, that's not going to happen . I think foreclosure is any day . Just waiting for the notice to come . ..
Sooooooooooooooooo, Well.................. you take care .. it's ok to cry.....
I wish you well in your court date ...... .
You talked about you lost so much in in the last few years ......... Funny I was just thinking of the same thing this mourning myself ................... For me these thoughts about loosing so much and so many family and friends comes and goes. I try to think of something else , because ...................... because ....well it's not going to do me any good to dwell of things like that .
During my divorce I lost my 18 year old dog id had since she was a pup and right after the divorce my little dog had a stroke and died. Sleeping would be hard if I didn't have other furbabies, mine sleep with me.
Even with all the loss I have had the last three years somehow I have found contentment and peace, I so hope you find the same soon.
(((((hugs)))))
Your dear dog will always be with you and will set the standard for the next dog you let in your life.
I will keep you in my thought on September 25th.I can't answer when all this will end for you but you can find happiness in small things as you go about your day. Even driving to town I find wild day lilies blooming beside the road. A field of cotton with their white flowers. A field of horses at play. Look for the small things that give you pleasure and I hope this ends for you soon.
I was divorced almost a year to the day when I my beloved Cocker spaniel died in one day, unexpectedly. He also was just 8 years old, and I would not have made through the divorce without him. I have never felt so alone as that night at the Emergency Vet when I had to make a decision to let him go. That was in 09. I felt the same, why this now? I needed my dog. I got support from so many here on D after Twenty. I am still grateful for that.
Take care of yourself, and mourn. ((HUGS))
Sometimes there does seem to be a run of bad things happening. I'm not sure why or how. It's like divorce sends out tentacles for a while. Things will settle down and you will be ok. Go one day at a time and concentrate on being in the moment. As Trisha said, see the small joys and miracles around you. Appreciate the people who are there for you. Go easy for a while.
All the best with the court case on the 25th.
love and hugs
