Most of the time I'm okay. I have had times where out of the blue - I just cry. I was standing outside of a hotel in Chicago a couple of weeks ago talking to this very nice woman. Blah-blah-blah. I was having a great weekend (forgetting about everything or trying). This car pulled up and out came this man with a few packages and spoke with her. I asked if he was her honey. She replied, "honey?! - no, he's my husband". We laughed, introduced each other, they sat to go through the bags he had and I went to my room. My friend was there getting dressed for dinner and started talking when I just burst into tears?!?! I was trying to hold them back so I was like fanning my face to stop and not speaking. Scared the heck out of my friend! I think it was just seeing this couple together. I don't know why THIS couple made me want to cry. I really don't. I see couples all the time and don't cry. I guess it just going to come and go like so many other emotions. I sure hope that I don't spend the rest of my life doing this stuff - it scares me!

Last week I was at a soccer game and ran into a friend I hadn't seen in a very long time. He immediately asked about my sidekick and I started to cry right there. I have had several encounters with that! I guess it is normal...whatever normal is!

All of this is "normal" but I find it all to be flippin whacked!!!!! I am sorry for your emotional upset, just know I am right there with you! Hang in there! Someday, we will get past some of this pain! It just makes me crazy that they have none and actually have enjoyment out of it all! Let's just wait for Karma...theirs and ours!!!!!

Well, I was tearing up reading your post so does that tell you anything?

I had to get the swelling down on my eyes today because I cried so much last night. Just angry that STBX became SUPERDAD with my daughter that was in town. He took her to a Notre Dame game, a Chicago White Sox game and a Bears game. Do you think she was home much? I own those tickets as much as he does. (not Notre Dame) He told me if I want any, I have to pay HIM for the tickets I already paid for.

Today is much better. I spent it with my daughter and her husband. Each day is a new feeling. Rage to happiness. I never had that before the divorce started.

By the way, I cry at Hallmark commercials.

I cry at Hallmark commercials too - but really the crying during this divorce is downright embarrassing. I work hard on keeping down around my son. He calls it my meltdowns and suggests I am manic-depressive. I just keep on telling him that I am feeling something.

A friend of mine and I have talked about that is what moves us to tears. When someone reaches out to us it is such a personal thing. It says they care. And after what we've been through, when someone cares, well that's the best thing of all. That's why we all love DS so much!

Lately , I have been crying on inhalation or exhalation!! A kind word especially from a friend of the stbsx's would most definitely start the water works.
I find myself isolating myself from friends too much because of this. I think it may be that the reality of truly knowing it is over, is sinking in. I do feel worse than I did and I am sure its the stage of seeing the true finality of our lives as a family. ugh

I know exactly what you mean...Friday my daughter nexteled me and told me she had a wreck, she had hydroplaned, ripped the oil pan off her car (she was ok) the car wasnt driveable.....I had no clue what to do...couldnt afford to have it towed, and couldnt let the city tow it! One of the guys I work with had a friend that owns a towing company and garage. He made all the arrangements and had it towed (I called idiot and told him he is getting the bill!!!) I cried at that simple act! Thanked him over and over...Sometimes the kindness is just overwhelming!

I always tell the girls, you never know how something as simple as a smile and a hello, how it can affect someones day!!

Chrissy, I have those moments all the time. I would ball like a baby, its like all the tears just sitting on the edge of my eyes ready to be roll out as soon as someone asked me how I'm doing. I spent quite a bit of times in the bathroom crying. It is getting better thought for me and I know it will get better for you too. Hugs to you.

Chrissy, I can't count the number of times people have shown me kindness through this difficult divorce. What's amazing is that when I experience this kindness I too start to tear up and am overwhelmed by the care & concern. If there is anything that I've gained out of this divorce is the sensitivity to the difficulties that others are experiencing in life, and you know for me I'm glad I feel this new found sensitivity, because I know I'm normal.
