Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

As the world and life get too fast and complicated to handle, one needs these tools to help slow down, to reflect, to pause and to relax.
If only I did that two days ago, I wouldn't have been such a drama queen lol

Why I apply mindfulness or think too deeply, it just makes me sink deeper into this chasm.
Excuse me for not remembering - there are so many folks here on DS that I often forget who is doing what.
Please know that I fully understand the rollercoaster of emotions involved and what you are going through. My therapist had to beat me over the head more than a few times until I got my hurt and anger under control. It's a process. None of this happens overnight -- it takes a pretty long time to come to the point of acceptance and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Hang in there and DO give that meditation a try. It takes a little practice, but as long as you are trying, it will help get you centered so you can rise above it -- even just a little at first. xoxo
I am going to copy it and print it out, so that I can read it regularly to remind myself to do this. I really need this at the moment as my life is going through so many changes.
