what papers are you talking about, divorce papers will be served to him only, if you filed But the IRS only serves paper to the person they are auditing. Not the spouse. But as you say, he is a pathological liar, so just try to find out what he is talking about. Get a lawyer lined up just in case. I did it too. and boy was I ever happy that I did. i dont know what papers!!! that's it. my lawyer was supposed to file support papers to get it back for me but as far as I know the divorce hasnt been filed yet. My lawyer said he wants a hearing before the judge before the court date is set . .and we always did joint return until last year on taxes. nohappy, I hear what you are saying about N's and I know how well they hide what they are. Try contacting your atty. for the info you need. I do hope this is the beginning of a new life for you. It's hard to get away from an N but you can do it.

And mention the IRS thing to your attorney. My X didn't respond to the IRS at all and I got stuck with half of a very large bill. I wish it would have happened during the divorce so I could have included that. Now it would cost me more to sue him than I owe. Oh well. Contact your attorney about all of this.

You should know if your lawyer has filed divorce papers for you. Talk to them and I agree mention the IRS.
