Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I moved into my rental this week. It's really nice to have a space of my own. When I walk in, all I see is me & my children. It hasn't been easy, but it is a start.

My only issue was that it was a modest home and my bedroom tiny, so to have my "own" space I basically had to be in my room on my bed. It's where I watched tv, read, did my job search.....pretty much it was the only space that belonged to me!
Just to add, my parents go south for a few month in the winter, so when I moved in in September I knew I'd have the place to myself 6 months later for at least a few months. I stayed about 1.5 years altogether. It cost me NOTHING which was a bonus, and it relieved any burden of paying bills etc. Not just financial, but even organizing a house etc. I helped, of course, but I was still working out the details of my separation the first few months. Worked for me.
I've been on my own now for almost 3 years and am starting to develop a plan for what type of home I might want to have for myself eventually. I'll soon be moving again after graduation to an awesome townhouse!! I'm thrilled. No more noisy neighbors above me. I'll finally have peace and quiet. I think you might benefit from renting a while until you are more sure about what you want, where you want to live, and what goals you have for yourself. It's much easier to assess those things when you can take a step back and eliminate the financial obligations associated with owning a home.
All the best to you!
