Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I actually can't get away from ex. Other than him living a block away, he still works for my family. My boyfriend does business with him. He's just always there.
It's also weird that your ex still works for your family and that your boyfriend does business with your ex. But that's neither here nor there in the grand scheme of things.
Ultimately, what your ex and his girlfriend do shouldn't affect you at all. Seems like you still have some work to do to let go of those ties/emotions so you become indifferent to it all. I'd start including your boyfriend, if your serious about this man, your family will just have to deal with it, and it will most likely make your relationship with your boyfriend stronger.
Try to dig deep and figure out why what your ex and his girlfriend do are still triggering you.
If I may,..............sounds like a comp!icated situation with your x
Family and your boy friend WORKING for him. Sorry to say,
I think there will always be some kind of problems with all of you.
It would be best for you and your boy friend, if you could distance yourself from everyone .
If not for good then temporarily..
Good luck.

I'm not sure what's going on with your boyfriend. It sounds like there's more here than we know about, but yes, I would take him to your kids' events and make him part of your life if that's what you want. You can sort out legal technicalities with your family if you are really serious about him, even if it means he can't ever be a part of the family business. At least you know that up front.
