Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
As to your X, being "Christian" or not doesn't have anything to do with someone who is a bad influence. Your X is just an ass.
Congratulations for having such a wonderful son. No doubt you had a hand in forming him. I have heard that accusers will accuse you of the thing that they are guilty of. Sorry you had to go to his house.
I walked my dog more often, I could start a new challenge this month.
Wow, your ex really shouldn't use big words he doesn't understand.
Unfortunately, you really can't do much about this. Sounds like your son has a level head on his shoulders (unlike his father) so he will likely be okay.
Don't worry about the challenge--you will get back to it.
The thing that causes us so much suffering is the fact that our EGO wants to CONTROL everything. Once we realize that we really HAVE NO CONTROL over much of ANYTHING, sooner or later, we start to give up the DESIRE to control. When that finally happens, we FREE OURSELVES to the universe. We step back and allow Karma to work things out -- and it ALWAYS DOES.
AND if we keep in mind that we are SPIRITUAL BEINGS having a HUMAN EXPERIENCE instead of the other way around, it becomes easier to STAY OUT OF THE FRAY and LEARN from Karma -- when you get to the point where you become an OBSERVER of human nature (instead of trying to control peoples' behavior), a lot of the things that would normally upset you DON'T BOTHER YOU ANYMORE. Sometimes, those things might actually make you laugh!
A long time friend of mine told me this, when I was still in the throes of divorce:
"Miracles happen every single day. The best thing we can do is to watch and listen -- and NOT get in the way of a miracle that is about to happen!"
We have to TRUST that people will do the right and moral thing in all situations. Sometimes we are disappointed, but that is part of life. With your son, I believe that he will draw upon his upbringing and your positive influence. The very best thing you can do for him is to silently trust him in this. Otherwise, you could just be bringing more negative Karma into your own New Life.
