Depersonalization disorder Community Group
anyone suffering from a Dissociation disorder such as Depersonalization/ De-realization or similar disorders.
hey, im new to the group! here's a brief version of my story...
Almost two years ago is when it first hit. I remember blinking and feeling like I just woke from a dream, it was like I was in a high state of mind but without the use of any substance. It came out of nowhere, and suddenly the world around me was dimmer, I felt as if things weren't really happening, and overall as if my body was on autopilot and I was just going through the motions in a dreamlike state. It came in short episodes, but then it grew more frequent, prolonged, and servere. Now I've reached the point where it's constant, and majority of the time it's at a relatively high severity. I haven't told anyone about it, I'm 16 and it has been happening for almost two years. I've gotten used to it, but that doesn't make the feeling that I've become an observer of my life any easier. It's been happening for so long ive lost hope of getting my normal life back. Ive gotten used to living with it, but nothing is the same anymore. Nothing feels real.
Hopefully I can become an active member of this group and find solutions that help others. I'd love to hear from people who suffer from this constantly like me, most people seem to experience it in episodes, not constantly.
Thank you :)

I have to work in a couple hours I don't have any gas barely I was wondering if u had 20$ by chance haven't been able to get any massages in I'm sorry to ask was just seeing"She agreed to meet me at the townhouse @1730. I asked her to call me before...
The sense of depersonalization is reduced by focusing the mind on the internal dialog rather than on perceptions of external stimulus, in much the same way that motion sickness is relieved by focusing on a object which has no relative motion, and that moves in concert with ones perceptions.
Your are probably right about it coming in chronic and acute forms, I have hope that science, through PET scanning and careful clinical studies, will eventually reveal the causes, but until then, we are left to do the best we can while wandering in the mist,
