after all the spending cutbacks.
One caller saying she could not get a job because of her weight also she is diabetic
I am retired, now and new laws mean you don't need to disclose that you are diabetic when applying for a job
but you usually need a medical and so the company doctor will know and no doubt inform the personnel after all that what he there for to filter out the people who may become ill and take time off.
Prejudice is still alive and kicking in a recession??
A workmate of mine years ago developed type 1 diabetes and needed to stop work to eat at certain times
This drove the supervisor nuts
he just did not understand or want to Hopefully we live in a more enlightened era
I have also known a woman being almost given a job over the telephone but when the employer saw her quickly changed his mind
Even said to other interviewee's we don't want her here breaking all the furniture
I guess its doubly difficult if you are very overweight and thinking the people who may offer you employment is judging you on physical appearance rather than ability to do the job

I would like to think that our people have grown more understanding over the years.
women who are of child bearing age are prejudiced against The law say's women should be paid the same as men for the same job but it does not happen and the local authorities who employ lots of women say they cannot afford it
When taken to court they are told to back pay the women who can prove they have been discriminated against but it was so prevalent that it come to millions upon millions of £ and the money is not there
Things in Britain are a complete mess from top to bottom
and We will likely be in the sh1t for years to come.
Justice and fairness cost money and it you ain't got any money
its just tough
At least according to our politicians
Still the Mefrormin has not been rationed yet
Of course there is no rationing of metformin. There are too many dollars that are being made from this drug so it is not rationed. The drug companies wouldnt make their money from it then.

Some scientist are putting fast food in the same health category as cigarettes
I don;t know what fast food advertising budget is but smoking ads have been banned in the UK for years
There is nothing worse than a reformed smoker or drinker preaching
I don't smoke or drink now or uses fast food outlet much,
But last time I was in one for a coffee I see one woman wolf down 2 burgers and fries in the time it took me to finish the Coffee
probably a days worth of calories in 20 minutes
she was about 300 lb, and as a former smoker and drinker I know how difficult it can be to change eating
habits
Its nice to have the cash and free time to go into a restaurant and have a healthy lobster salad with fresh fruit to follow
If you care to look at the menu's of some of these places used by banker and such and see the prices
just a starter can cost $50
What annoys is some of the preachers who have no idea that the cost of their meal would feed a family
on Welfare for a week
The USA is about the most overweight nation and the UK is not far behind
Big business won't change unless forced to by public opinion or the law it may be manipulation
but hey we are manipulated all the time from the time we get out of bed

This is the diabetic burden seeing all the nice food you cannot possibly eat
Christ ya can't even put mayonnaise on the salad to make it taste of something
