If they are bed bugs...you might not want to go to NY...because wearing a blanket around you can still bring about the bugs being in bed with you....uuggg...pretty gross I think...are they suppose to be all over or just in a certain area...maybe you can go stay in that area and just commute to where you want to go...it is pretty easy to get around there...however...DO NOT TAKE THE SUBWAY LINE...IT IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!...have fun anyway!!

Brok - I think you're being silly.

(1) the bugs are not all over - the only ones I've seen are the ones they've shown on TV. Actually, I think they've been found in the wealthier areas of Manhattan.

(2) the NY subway system is not dangerous but it depends on what neighborhoods the subway goes through. There are many subway lines and some are filled with the huppies of NY. I took the subway to work (that went through bad neighborhoods) every day for 55 years and I'm still here. Just don't travel on them in the middle of the night when the trains are empty,

Hi Arline yea I have the 1 st time was on a Merchant ship early 70's it was very wild then with all kinds of strange people from just about everywhere.

And do you remember Freddy Laker his sky train was so cheap to fly over it was worth going just for the cheap shopping a lot of stuff then was about half the price

Yes, I remember Freddy Laker very well (I see you're not a youngster either). And yes, there are all kinds of strange people here- those who visit and native New Yorkers. When I said you could walk down the street naked and no one would notice, I meant it. Most people who live here don't live in Manhattan. Its basically for the very rich and very poor. Most residents live in the other boroughs and on Long Island. The commute is probably the worst there is but what choice if you want to be considered a New Yorker.

No there are no ferries here anymore - at least not to Coney Island. The rides closed about a year ago but Nathans is still there,

I live by the sea so I certainly dont have to go far. Just through the parking lot and across the street.
