I know a few weeks back I had some salted peanuts two hours before bed and woke up with a raging thirst
I think the high levels may be the dawn phenomenon, The idea seems to be that the body gets ready to start the day by cranking up the glucose production.
I read books saying eat 6 small meals a day, but that means you are spending all the time preparing and getting ready to eat
Since I sacked the cook and maid this has become so inconvenient . I have been advised by my doctor to get rid of the chauffeur. and rehire a good diabetic cook
But as I explained if I get rid of my driver the Rolls would need to go
So at the moment I'm just stumped!
I know when my sugar is high I have a slight ache behind the eyes and heachy feeling and it always seem to correspond to a higher sugar reading
as soon as i get up a start walking about the levels seems to fall
I guess a danger is if you are bedridden for some other reason the levels could zoom up due to inactivity
BTW I would get an all around maid... one that could cook and drive your rolls as well LOL
For instance the au pair guide lays down strict rules as their duties and tasks
I could employ a manservant who would iron my shirts and drive the car But those people would not do the cleaning ( good god No no)
Some people take to living permanently in a hotel But non seem to serve a decent diabetic meal
Getting decent servants nowadays is not so easy most of the good ones have fled to the USA
Chasing the Dollar
Sad times when ya just can't get the staff
How about trying to eat some extra protein instead of carbs before you go to bed Lost. Have you tried a couple of fried eggs and low salt ham along with some wasa crackers with cheese? It might be an idea to try.
