I used to take Metformin, but it was bad for my kidneys so the endocronologist took me off it and put me on insulin. I miss the easy way of just taking a pill and not having to worry about lows and having to have snacks or your bs goes too high.
I think I am an old lady! hahaha... got any ideas for looking younger... I will take them :)

I am sure I mentioned this before, but I had an intense itch on my leg and although I am not itch free, it was very bad before and now it is much better, it says its good for lower blood sugar and I can't know this, but I know this does make it worth while, I take for itch control. I wanted to say my blood sugar has been improving and it was high 97 and otherwise 86, 89 which was very good. Today it was 87 both times I checked it although in the past when my blood sugar was very good, it was corrected and sometimes much higher and many times it was much better, but I will calibrate it on Monday morning. Maybe I don't know what an old lady is, but my neighbor according to talk is about 25 years old at most, but she looks about 30-35 to me, but I don't ask girls for age. Doris is over 80 years old and looks in her late 60s

What reading do I look for the 'kidney function' since I want to see how mine are doing, or at least if my doc has mine checked, I know my potassium level is very good, not too high or low. I changed it since this is not a Three bears story.

Couldn't read all of Jordon's post...sorry...concentration probs. But I wanted to add besides anti-aging, it's also a weight control for us taking meds that put on weight. I've said that before, but there's new people here. It's been working great for me.
As for anti-aging...do I look 57? LOL

Nope.. you sure dont look 57 Bobbi! Do I look 45?LOL I wish I was still taking the Metformin. I just hate taking insulin, but I guess I have no choice. I just found Metformin so easy, you didnt have to hardly think about it.. with insulin, that is ALL you ever think about.. that and low bs. Metformin doesnt give you any lows.. insulin puts on weight, where Metformin is suppose to help weight. Oh, how I wish for those days :)

Yeah, once you have to go the insulin route, everything changes. So the goal here for everyone is to NOT get to that point, hopefully.

Exactly!! I just hope everyone can keep to an eating and excercise plan that keeps them in control. Then, just keep on doing the same thing. Dont think you can get away from having diabetes and go off, because you can never do that :)

Bobbi - you are quite attractive -so are you, Goldi. I used to be but now I'm almost 73 and not at all attractive.

We've been down the metformin route also. I've been on it for 11 years not and never lost weight because of it BUT it is an easy med to take - no lows

Oh yes, Arline.. it was so easy to be on Metformin. I just hate worrying about the lows all the time... Thank you for the compliment, Arline :)
