I thought it was almonds that were good for you and the least fat. I don't like almonds except in hershey bars. (the good ole days)
I have put weight on also the last few months. I think most of it over eating (stress) and being in this wheel chair. I stopped going to the pool to work out so little by little I started noticing my dam clothes were shrinking. Pretty soon even my baggy stuff was too tight.
So I have started being more aware of what I am supposed to do instead of telling everyone what they should do. LOL
I love cottage cheese lost and the eggs and salads but your right it gets old. But your doing great on the weight thingy. Yea!!!! So you better not eat the pie, just the steak and salad....
God Bless
Yaah, I love my nuts too. Pecans, walnuts, almonds, you name it. I eat quite a bit of them because of the protein and good fat factor and in spite of the calories.
If I have to eat nothing but boiled chicken for protein, you can go ahead and just shoot me now. Yucccckkk with a capital Y. I've got to have my George Foreman grill and a little garlic, salt and pepper at least.
I do love my raw veggies though and I don't even need the blue cheese for 'em. What kills me is the effect watermelon has. Darn. I love the stuff and it's like a super-sonic shock to the blood sugar.
Although I will eat some eggs, I don't worry too much about the cholesterol thing because I hardly ever eat the egg yolks. Can't stand 'em. Over easy eggs make me nauseous. Ick, ick and ick. I eat the whites. I like them hard boiled. My dog gets the yolks which he loves and I enjoy the whites. Perfect partnership.

I used to eat a lot but i can barely eat a whole meal(i feed most to the birds and dog LOL) anymore why I never lose weight is beyond me.
Oh and we have some strange burgers here where I live in TX. There's one place here in our town that offers a burger that supposedly originated in Australia that includes beets and portabella mushrooms on it. I think it comes in around the 1,500 calorie mark. Good grief.
At the moment I have a roast beef in the oven that is smelling absolutely wonderful. If it tastes as good as it smells when it's done, oh boy. Don't worry though, it's only one-half cup of the mashed baby red potatoes and lots of salad to go with it for me. No gravy either. I'm just not that much of a gravy fan anyway, so it's not a big sacrifice.
