sounds like a good way to go.
mc d's are making bumper profits so it don't look like people are changing eating habits
Maybe with all the profit they are making they will give their staff a wage increase.
Look how long it took to stop most of the population smoking and that was so obviously deadly.
I have seen the TV programmes of people in the hospital having big mac smuggled in by so called friends and family even when they are too big to get out of bed.
My view is that no matter how bad a thing may be if people are willing to pay for it then someone is going to supply it
as the cigarette comapnies know ya have to get em young No one over twenty or so starts smoking so the teenage years are best
But with the fast food its happy Birthday and party time at 3 years old just one plastic toy can start a habit of a lifetime.
I was born in the fifties so escaped the fast food, but where i lived there was a pub on every corner
there are definatly more poisons to choose from nowdays
of being a kid to get that special toy with your meal..i know at times thats the only way to get cassie to eat her meal is to let her have the toy AFTER she eats of course...we let her choose fries or fruit....about 90% of the time she chooses fruit but she thinks its cool that she can choose what one.....there's enough things in this world to worry about that should be more important than worrying about people letting their kids have toys in their meals.....
I would rather my child be denied a toy than being an unhappy overweight pre diabetic teenager
its like the tobacco companies who used to put coupons in the packs so you could get a free food mixer or such before dying of lung cancer
advertising is insidious they will tell all kinds of lies about their products to sell them
OK we all have a free choice
Children Can't really make an informed choice so parental guidance is needed.
how about instead of eating all this rubbish we eat a decent healthy meal and you can still have a toy from the toy shop
Just take a look around fast food has been a diasater for people's health I look at the over weight parents going into these places with their children and can't help but think its the next generation of people addicted to fast food
but from time to time she can make a choice between the fruit or fries....at home we only can have the healthy stuff so if once in a blue moon she wants to have fries its ok...if it was something that happened quite often that would be different and a real concern.......since i found out in june that im diabetic shes had a big change in the way eating is done for us....she can no longer get the "junk" foods.....we have the healthy and good for you stuff....so when she gets to have wendys now n then she thinks shes really getting away w/something........hehe......luckily shes also very active and cant sit still so anything like that she eats she can burn off quicker than others....i agree that the fast food is a big part of whats wrong w/the society and we can all use a change for the better....
He did a similar study with london bus drivers. He found the heat atttacks were over twice as high for the drivers as the conductors who were running up the stairs all day collecting fares
So exercise was recommended to help prevent heart attacks
I am part of a study for diabetes But there are so many variables involved it does not look like they are going to find a single major cause they know hereditry plays a part, but thats true of most diseases.
over weigh is a factor but thin people also get diabetes. one thing is that people who eat a diet of natural food that passes through the gut rapidly seem to hardly suffer from diabetes
but these are African tribes that live such a different lifestyle it could also be a lot of other things.
I rember in the eighties that AIDS was going to wipe us all out then in the UK it was Mad Cow disease.
and T Blair had all the Mad Cows incinerated.( of course M Thatcher had already gone by then).
We seem to have escaped bird flu and swine flu
I'm just wondering what will be next on the horizon
Chiken is a healthy food until Col Sanders gets hold of it and tosses into batter and the deep fryer
but having spit roast chicken is not really fast food, if you go to the salad bar their are always lots of sauces and mayo's that make it into a bad choice and who can resist all these condiments on an otherwise bland salad.
personally I don't think there is much wrong with a nice juicy lean Steak with salad
