New here and new to this situation. One year ago I met a guy online and after a week he told me that he was a registered offender but I feel his situation is a little unique in that the incident happened when he was 11 and the boy was 9 ( i mean kids do stupid things right?) Well the boy was in therapy and at the age of 18 he told his therapist what happened and by law they had to report it so at the age of 21 my boyfriend was convicted and will forever be on the registry.  He is now 35 and there have been  no other convictions so I do not feel my child who is 12 is at any risk, he has close friends who have children, a loving and supportive family whom i adore and have grown close to as well.  However my family has now found out his status and im dealing with that the best I can.  We currently have a LDR and I have been flying out to be with him a few times a year, my goal is to move to him with my daughter and we get a house together and eventually get married.  There is so much I don't know about living with a sex offender and being a single mom I would love to hear from others if possible.
