Dating after Divorce Community Group

After divorce it's hard to jump back into the dating scene. This group will help support each other as we get back out there in the dating world.

I just completed the book entitled Date or Soulmate by Neil Clark (Mr. Eharmony.com).
What I received from the reading in regards to dating was:
1. Develop a Can't Stand List.
2. Develop a Must have List.
3. Run fast if you see crazies.
4. Don't be desperate and give up your morals or values.

I should have read the book prior to my first long term date after my divorce, I definitly violated 1-4. LOL

Question:
Are there real soulmates out there or is it just a falacy? I'm not wanting to get married again, however it would be nice to have someone who is a friend & lover.

No, but there's plenty in which sharing time and energy would be worthwhile, maybe intense, and exciting.

I don't know ... maybe we have a few soul mates. My BF of 11 months and I click completely. I have examined the things that got mixed up in the past and have vowed not to see a repeat. He and I are on the same page 99% of the time. When we spend more than a couple of days together - we finish each other's sentences and come back from the buffet with the same plate of food. When I go to txt him - I get a call or txt from him before I can hit send.

I feel special and giddy and in love. The ex was always such a downer and ice cold to me. Amazing that someone like the ex could have had the affair he had. But - I am so so so much happier than I was knocking myself out trying to get my ex to love me (unsuccessfully apparently).

The way I feel is - even if it does not work out for my BF and me - I feel so glad to have had this amazing relationship and I feel so good to have known him.

I believe we have soul mates but I believe that seldom do soulmates ever actually find each other and if they do the seldom get together. It seems to me we have too much of a natural proclivity to chase after the people that are exactly wrong for us. Its as though we can't help ourselves. I looked at your list of 4 things above and it all seemed so elementary and even you admitted you broke all of them....lol. I think there would be a lot less divorce and more people finding and marrying if they are so inclined soul mates if we got back to the basics. The problem I suppose boils down to the fact that when it comes to love it does not happen often that the heart and the mind work in sync. In many cases the mind seems to be turned off.

Hope that doesn't sound cynical because it is not my intent.
