My stray

I found a kitten in a ditch (about 2 weeks old) June 17th 2010, his mom and siblings had died, they were all wild.... I took him home and got him back to health, but I ended up falling in love with him... So I kept him, He's now my best friend. I love him sooo much... but he isn't at all like other cats.... He's not afraid of ANYTHING, I raised him since he was just a baby, so I became "mommy" and I'm afraid that since he was raised by a human, he doesn't know how to be a cat :( He likes water, and cars, anything. He doesn't ever bite hard, or use claws when we play... My nephew will pull his hair or tail and Twinky just sits there... (of course I stop my nephew) He doesn't chase birds, mice, or bugs.... He sleeps on my bed, not the cat bed.... he loves his hair and teeth brushed... He never leaves my side.. Do you think that it's bad that he depends on me? Or that he doesn't act like a normal cat?

I've only had strays as pets and you can never spoil a stray too much, they so deserve all the love and attention hey get!

one of my two adoptions was a feral kitten. Jojo isn't as dependent as Twinky but has a lot of the same behaviors. I think as former ferals make great pets but also become very dependent

As long as you continue to be there for him for what he depends on you for, I think you're doing okay. The story of your Twinky and my Bryce Olyver are so similar in that all his siblings drowned and his momma abandoned him at my back door when he was just 4 days old. (they were also feral). He's a "Velcro Kitty" but my son says he's "double-strength and closer to me than my shadow. (teasingly calls him Momma's Boy) Then there are also so many differences. He was a biter for just over 2 years and from one day to the next no longer wanted to be brushed, unless done when he's drinking from the counter sinks, and no longer loves his teeth being brushed. But all in all, he's got his forever home here with me.
By the way, if that's him in your profile pic, he's gorgeous!
Just want to add: Thank you so much for stopping to rescue him and not just leaving him there. We need more people like you out there!
