Welcome to the "second room" of the Daily Worship Strength group. This group "room" is devoted to personal and public prayer. Here we ask that prayer requests and praise reports are posted. Because we know that prayers are answered! We have a God who personally cares for and about us, His children.

I like these thoughts I pulled from her new book "100 Ways to Simplify Your Life"

Keep prayer simple. Simple prayers can be acceptable to God. We try to say too much and we start to ramble. If you keep going for hours and feel you are not finished, you might not be keeping your prayer simple. The nature of faith is simple and so is prayer. Nothing about it is complicated. God is simple. Remember when Moses asked God who He was, He simply said "I AM!" Simple prayers lead to a simple life.

Pray about everything. No that is not a contradiction of the above! Our lives will be more complicated if we do not ask or get Got involved. Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith. But He is not obligated to finish anything He did not start! Jesus did not do anything apart fro the Father and we should not either. What ever you are struggling with, doing or troubled with, God's grace and ability is coming to us free of charge; but we need to ASK Him for it. Recall the words of James. "You have not because you ask not" Ask for God's help and then watch Him answer!

this is so true, i used to get relly wound up about not praying long praers, every one elese seemed to say all these things and carried on for so long, and i must admit i got board,i usaly pray in pictures, in my head, and on paper, so all these long words that went on forever,was just not me,then i learned that it is ok just to say one or two words, after all God knew what i needed and what i was going to say before i said it, so now i just pray as i can, everything simple,and it works for me, Gods not intrested in what words we say to him or how many, it is what is in our hearts,that matters, so thanks for posting this,it just reminds me, not to get to coplicated, just to pray simply from the heart.

this is so true to the last word. and i completely agree iwth thegardener. i have often felt that everyone else prays for eons and mine ends in 2 minutes. but i also know that the holy Spirit intercedes on my behalf for all that i need and i dont have to go on for 4-5 hours praying...even with every breath i take, the Lord's hearing my needs and preparing me to receive it.the Lord is truly wonderful and it's incredible how as humans, we just cannot understand him completely and we think we know everything...pssshhhhht..as IF!

I have said many a prayers while driving. I thank God that we do not have to always bow our heads and close our eyes for each prayer. I would also guess those driving around me are thankful as well! As a journalist, I have found that the best stories are shorter and come right to the point. They are the most difficult to write as well.

I recall the Bible comments on prayer where some stand to be seen and speak great and impressive words. It says that they have their reward. Plus the fact that the Holy Spirit translates even our groanings to God. I have many times I have no clue to what words I need. In fact sometimes I am so moved to be in the presence of God I can hardly speak at all.

Thought this older post was worth reprinting. Might get some more discussion going.
I like the idea of keeping it simple. Just sitting quietly and giving Him a chance to speak and be heard sometimes works better than a lot of flowery language out of me. Judy

I pray in the car, in the shower, in bed, whenever I feel the need to speak to my Savior. I was never one for long and proper prayers, I just talk to the Good Lord like I normally talk. After all, he already knows I'm not known for my eloquent speaking:)

Great reminder! I pray whenever I need to talk to my Lord, but I need to remember to keep it simple
