I just finished Dick Van Dyke’s 100 Rules for Living to 100, and it was great, but I am a fan.

I’m on the waitlist for The Housemaid that was made into a movie.

I am getting ready to start Fair and Tender Ladies by Lee Smith, who also wrote The Last Girls.

A Brilliant Night of Stars and Ice sounds really interesting. It gets my vote, although I'd be happy to read any of the books listed. (I'm a fan of Dick Van Dyke, too.)

So I am going to say I vote for A Brilliant Night of Stars and Ice this month and maybe Dick Van Dyke next month (March)? Just a suggestion based on what I found at the library. Am agreeable to whatever you all want to do, though.

I would like to read DIck Van Dyke's book but three people are ahead of me and only one copy, which could mean it is my turn in 3 months, if lucky. If we put it ahead one more month, I will be able to see if I can get it sooner.

A Brilliant Night of Stars and Ice by Rebecca Connolly is a heavily researched historical fiction novel, with the vast majority of its core events, characterizations, and timeline based on the true story of the Carpathia’s rescue of Titanic survivors. While some dialogue and specific character moments are imagined, it adheres closely to historical records.

Update on The Housemaid: 3 stars. Simplistic writing and weak character development. The plot didn’t get going until midway through. It reminded me of King’s Misery.

I just read Dick Van Dykes book also, 100 rules for living to 100. My goodness it was interesting. I took some positives from it but he is also very old now and he admits to slowing down mentally and physically and has a wonderful younger wife.
