Hey everyone. I need a little advice. I lost my dad in March 08. I have three siblings. Two that I have kept in contact, and one I've never met. So, up until 2 yrs ago didn't even know her name. Then dad gave me her dob: mom's name & last place he knew they lived. I couldn't find her. Well, after dad's passing I found her on line. She & I have sent a few messages back & forth. However, she lost her mom 7 yrs. ago to breast cancer. So, now I have to tell her about Dad's passing. Any ideas how to tell a sibling that I really don't know & that's lost a parent already?? I don't know how to tell her!!!
Please help??!!!

Ok, If it were me, I'd be upfront and honest. Tell her, "I have some upsetting news to share with her. Because of your situation with our father, I'm not sure how you'll react to this, but I feel this is important to share with you." I don't know your Dads situation, but I say something like, "I don't know if you knew this or not, but Dad was sick(or whatever happened)". Then tell her the story of what happened, ending with the news of his passing. My guess is she'll relate on some level because of her own Moms passing. I'd tell her you've been trying to find her with no success, but you felt it was important so you kept looking for her. Its up to you if you want to offer friendship or comfort. Its perfectly fine, if you don't want to. You can tell her, your not in a personal place to offer much comfort yet because you are still greiving yourself or you may find it may help you if you make a connection with her. Thats all your call. I hope this helps. Big Hug, Marge.................My Dad loved western movies
