My father passed away on 2/8/14 from a short battle with Thyroid cancer. He became sick in October of last year and was told he had cancer on 11/19/13 and officially diagnosed on 12/4/13. He started treatment the beginning of January. He developed blood clots from the side affects of chemo and radiation and was hospitalized for five days. He was sent home to receive Hospice care but passed away the two days later. My father turned 65 in December.
I struggle everyday and I am crying as I am write this. I still can't wrap my mind around this. My family knew it was terminal but the doctors told us he had up to a year. Some days I think it's a bad dream and think he is just home.
I'm sorry you lost your dad. I lost mine to cancer too. He died over 11 years ago from a brain tumor. I know it won't help much but I DO know how you feel. It does get better even though it takes awhile and you still have those days. Most of the time its "What If?" I'm sorry for your loss, and I know there isn't much I can say to you to make it better. Enjoy your time with the rest of your family and take comfort in them. I am only 15, my dad died when I was 4. My mom takes good care of me and my siblings, and I still miss my dad. My dad was in his 30s. I can't give you much advice other than what I've already said. I hope you don't feel quite so sad soon. Have a GOOD day, and try to make it one <3
