nearley 5 years and i have missed him every day, i go and put flowers or a plant down for him every 2 weeks, im so luck to still have my mum, i will try every day to be a person he would be proud of, i was so lucky to have him for my dad and my best freind.
I miss my daddy too.He died this past Father's Day.This is my first Christmas with out him in my entire life.It is overwhelming. That is sweet you are keeping flowers on his grave.
I am so broken hearted. I lost my DAD on July 17th he would have been 85 .
I feel like my life has stopped and I can not pick the pieces up...
Tomorrow I will go and put flowers on his grave. I hope he is going to have a wonderful Xmas with my MOM
in heaven.
I feel like everyone has just gone on with there life and mine has stopped...
I just don't know how to go on without him.. I know he would be so sad if he knew I was such a mess...
I know he would not want this for me.
I lost my MOM in 1992 and yes was very torn also.
But my DAD was everything to me he was my rock.
I could not have asked for a better father .
How do you pick up and go on...
How do you mend a broke heart....
How do you become happy again....
It is a long uphill battle this grief thing. Its often one step forward three steps back. I lost my Dad in 1992 and mom in 2004. My husband in 1998. The loss of Dad was the first encounter with the loss of someone close to me. I didn't think I would ever stop crying and feel like a normal person again. I retreated from living and hardly talked to anyone except my close family. Sometimes after a sad movie ,dry eyed I would say That was just a movie those people will be in a new one next month. My dad is never coming back! Everyday many times a day I wanted to phone him and ask a question or tell him about something that was happening with my family or get his advice on a problem. No one else could understand except my brother and sister and mom. This intensity continued for two years but I finally decided I had to fight my way back to this life or I would lose everyone else. I wrote poetry and letters to him as an outlet for my grief and I started spending time with other seniors to enrich their lives. I guess its 17 years now and many losses later. Now my thoughts and memories of him are warm and lovely .I feel so rich that he was there for me for as long as he was. Having a great dad is one of the most wonderful blessings God gives a child . to know that there is someone whos got your back no matter what, someone who would die for you in a minute if it came to that. That give you a solid foundation in life that no one can ever take away. The joy will return. Know that his love for you will always be there and he would want you to work through the pain and come back to the world. Keep on talking about him all the time, write letters telling him how much you wish you could talk to him. Cry until there are no more tears. Your grief my dear is still very fresh and raw and the worst thing you could do is stuff it. It would come back later in so many different and more painful ways. I say that from experience because when my husband died 12 years ago I didn't allow myself to cry because I needed to be strong for my kids. I tried to run from it by moving away and finding a new relationship..That didn't work at all .Its just the last three years that I've become a rational sane person again. OOps sorry for the ramble
