I lost my Daddy 7 years ago, and it still hurts so bad. He was my hero, the one man in my life that loved me unconditionally. I know he looks down at me from heaven and is still protecting me.

I'm new here as well. I lost my father almost three years ago very unexpectedly. I still have bad days. The holidays coming up soon are a bit bittersweet. I was hoping to find some support through this difficult time. Hugs to you! Hopefully we can be a support to each other!

I lost my dad 12 years ago in a car accident. It has haunted me and i have had a hard time letting go. Sometimes i think of how hard I cried when i found out and that thought makes me cry. No matter how old we are when we lose a parent it turns us into small children. My moms dad drowned in a lake when she was 16 and i realize now that she never got over it and often feel guilty for not understanding her depression. Ethansmommy, you have the gift of helping someone due to your experience. Your grief and your sadness can be used to help someone who is going through the same thing. You understand and when my parents died nothing made me angrier when someone said they understand but i knew they didnt. But you do and you can give that to someone else. I am sorry for your loss and i will always be here to support you and listen to you whenever you need.

New to this group, lost my Dad in November, he died in my arms. I have days where I feel fine, other days where I want tojust crawl in a hole and stay there. I am a 58 year old woman, my mom died 15 years ago (in my arms) and I guess i thought when Dad went it would be easier as I had already been thru it. Its not easier, its much harder as I know I am alone now. I am an only child and have a wonderful husband, 2 girls and a granddaughter, but still really feeling the emptiness of both my parents gone. Hard to explain to anyone who hasnt been there. The rest of my family is in Ireland, never knew my grandparents so the first loss I had was my Mom, guess its normal to feel this way, but cant wait to feel somewhat normal again. Hope us Daddys girls can keep each other sane.

New to this site...lost my Dad March 2nd...am really struggling with this loss. His passing has made me feel so alone and empty...I have some feelings of guilt for not spending more time with him.But his lifestyle I couldnt handle. I am just looking for some support, since I dont seem to be getting much thru family or friends right now.
