I know of all of the "typical" Cushing's symptoms ("moonface", central obesity, fatigue, "buffalo hump", etc.) but I'm wondering if there are any atypical symptoms of Cushing's that present. I ask because for about the last 2 years I have suffered from gastrointestinal upset (think diarrhea and loose stools, as well as nausea). I have been to a GI doc who has ruled out Celiac, Chrons, Ulcerative Colitis, and lactose intolerance. In addition, can it cause a weakened immune system? When I was in college (so tons of stress, little sleep, poor diet, etc.) I only got sick about 3 times a year, but now I get sick every couple of weeks.

I ask this on the Cushing's board because I have the aforementioned "typical" symptoms as well as the facial hair growth, depression (I've read that this can be caused by Cushing's and though I've had it longer than the other symptoms, it's only recently become hard to control via medication).

The most concerning of the symptoms has been the rise in blood pressure. I was, along with my sister, one of those people who constantly had low blood pressure due to genes and a low salt diet, my "high" blood pressure moments usually landed me around "textbook normal" range (120/80). Over the summer my blood pressure was measured at 150/90 and then in September I was measured again at 155/94 and placed on BP meds. I'm 23, so I am quite understandably concerned.

I'm also wondering which tests are good to have ordered for testing for Cushing's. I've had the AM fasting Cortisol test done, but from what I've read, it's not the best test for diagnosis. I'm setting up an appointment with my doctor soon and would like an idea on what I should request since I've been poked an awful lot in the last six months.
