Howdy.
I'm a crossdresser. Never had a doubt in my mind that's what I am. Since I was old enough to walk by myself and investigate, I started wearing my mom's dresses and shoes, bras and things. Never stopped. Never felt the urge to purge (get rid of) my collection of clothes.
I've had several girlfriends of the course of my lifetime, I'm 25 as I'm writing this. I love my current girlfriend. She's very supportive. For some reason, early last year, I decided to start spending my money buying clothes, underwear and a wig. I don't hide them, I don't feel the need to. But this girlfriend, we'll call her Suzie, was the first girlfriend I told straight up. No lies, no complications. I told her that if we intended to make this relationship work, we would need to be forthcoming. And I sat her down and told her what I do, how often I do it, why I do it, etc. And she's very supportive. Even lets we wear something silky to bed. ;)
But I joined a forum group on Crossdressing in hopes of understanding what exactly I am. They throw around words like transexual, male to female, pre and post op. Several of the "ladies" on the site suggest that they have an almost alter ego. Someone that they have given a name. Others dress up in drag and feel comfortable outside enough to do that. I do not.
And yet, I find myself without a label much past "Crossdresser". I don't have a secret girl inside of me. I don't want to be a girl, even secretly. While I do get sexually aroused when I dress up, thats more of the excitement of actually doing something that society has deemed wrong. So I get a little charged up each time. But I dont go out and shop "En Femme", nor do I want to show any of my lady friends who while have been find enough to donate older clothes as they aren't cheap, they realize that I'm not exactly comfortable showing them what I look like. I'm a large guy. Goatee, big hands and feet, thick legs, overweight gut. I don't make a pretty girl. I don't wear makeup, hardly wear the wig. And yet, I want to know exactly what I am. I don't change in emotion or feelings, actions and attitude when I get girl'ed up. I'm still the grumpy dude I was before I tossed on the dress. I don't secretly want to be a little more feminine, as I dont really register as being masculine at all. I'm just me. The Dude. In the dress.
So... what am I? Where do I fit in the grand scheme of all things Dress?

Like you i really want to know who or what i am its driving me crazy .I never was a good fit as a boy growing up and i was not into playing with dolls either. But at the same time i knew i wanted to be a girl. When i do put on a skirt or panties or a dress which is not to often as again i am trying to control this fem side of me.I feel so normal like i should be wearing these things every day not just from time to time..I want to look pretty and sexy and have some one enjoy the girl i have become. But being married to a woman whose brother was Transgendered and seeing how the family shut her out of everything i know i must keep this side of me in the closet and live a lonely life all alone.
So i say just as you have said WHO AND WHAT AM I ??????
