I have a left sided back pain which radiates to side and front and i saw an osteopath on Tuesday who said all my left felt tight and my rib/s felt locked. My back is even hurting when i walk and sit back and lean on a chair/sofa. Most of my left side feels inflamed or something. If my OH rubs my back i don't know if it's my ribs or muscle/cartilage that really hurts.

I don't know all there is to know about this disorder, but everything i have read indicates costchondritis affects the connective tissues between the sternum and ribs. It typically does not go beyond that area, which is why so many of us end up in the ER thinking we are having heart attacks. What you are describing can be caused by a number of conditions so you should get a full evaluation by your osteopath.
