this was posted on our COPD board & i thought it might be interesting to look thru as it says it's free courses.
this was posted for a course about COPD (which may be interesting in itself)
http://alison.com/courses/GHI-COPD
but it also has other courses listed here, that we may want to browse thru & see if we all can find one that interests all of us?

i haven't checked all of them out closely yet, but thought i would throw out the idea as this is tuesday :)
(hoping links work now )
i was just clicking on subjects on the alison site & i don't like that it kept giving me pop ups pushing me to join it---i don't like links that are annoying & could possibly give me a virus or just a bunch of spam if i join, so i'd remove that link now if i could :(
I don.t. Someone mentioned one time about reality and mythology or something like that. Yes, you may need to stay off that sight...we will come up with something
Brenda
So since I could not use Alison & we'd all hate the adds, left's do come up with something else. Just give me a day or too & make suggestions too please.
I know we are still on myths/beliefs topic, but I had a thought for our next thing if all agree.....
Let's put together a clean discussion topic to welcome newbies on the main COPD board & provide some of the tips/answers/suggestions/resources everybody looks for in a panic when they are first diagnosed.
Also, fyi, I sent DS an email begging them to clean up the treatments list. There are so many 1 member helped items that the list is way too long. Or at least fix it so you could sort it by treatment name.
If DS does help, let's really make an effort to encourage everyone to fix/update the treatments in their profile. There are newer meds available that aren't even on the list. The treatments section could really be a useful tool for lots of folks.
Sorry I sound a little manic & hopefully not crazy bossy. I forgot prednisone earlier so had to take at what should have been bedtime.....
Good idea. I have been on this site for a little more than a year. If they threw me off I am pretty sure I would not know why. The sadness is when people really need? To be here. Like deb bear. That was sad to me. Her last month's she could not share with us. Makes me sad and mad and I just want to scream. Thanks all. Care about you.
Are you speaking of Silva Mind Control or that's what it was called in the 70's. I took that course and I think the techniques for mediation and self healing are very powerful when one is trained well on the technique. After all these years I still practice some of them.
I just took a course in Healing Touch and really like that approach. Its the same basic concepts but explained in context of energy fields, like chakras. There are nurses who are certified in this therapy and its being done at oncology centers and also used post-op to control pain and improve healing time.
I know very little but it helps me a lot.
anyone else have any suggestions??
