Good to meet you.
Grannie, that sounds about right - where about's are you?
I live in a Northwest Burb of Chicago.
I barely speak American English and yet it is the only language I have ever spoken.
My cabana boy taught me most of the naughty Spanish words that would get me killed if I ever went to Mexico! lol
He is from South America (Brazil). Grannie keeps trying to lure him down to her neck of the woods.....but I keep him chained to the cement post in the basement when he isn't working....I'm just sayin :P
He makes a mean Guacamole to die for....puts grannie's roadkill and Mr. Puff's soup to shame!
He's a keeper.......for the most part :)
We live in a leafy suburb on the outskirts of a smallish city, the provincial capital, founded way back in the 1600's by Dutch pioneers in their covered wagons and teams of oxen. Laid out in a typical grid design, the city hall stands in the centre and is the largest red brick building in the S-hemisphere.
And to dispel urban myth, wild animals don't roam in the streets - except for @#$% vervet monkeys that come into the house, brazen as hell, to steal my dern bananas out the fruit bowl....horrid things! And, speaking for myself of course, I don't go about bare breasted or wear ankle rattle pods or monkey tail skirts ...... especially in winter ..... chapped lips, ya know. LOL. :-))))))
Would love to learn some real bad Russian swear words ... if I say them in a nice sweet way the old boy won't know the difference. I sometimes use my own hand language at him but he's caught onto those.
Nice meeting you too, nodrogmot - good to see a man in the thick of things.
Well, take care all, must log off now - almost time to put the old boy out, the dog in and wind up the cat. Sleep well and ((((hugs)))) all round.
I live in Australia and is nasty cold here now.
Montreal is bilingual, but Quebec is French mostly, They eat lots of baguettes, long french bread, and cheese with wine, like in France, they have wine with meals. Coffee and chocolate is our main food lolol, there are homemade chocolateries every couple of blocks and coffee shops almost every block.
Hello Jazz. Funny what pre-conceptions foreigners have of countries they've only seen on TV. I envisaged Canada as being desolate, wild and pristine, with Eskimos mushing their sleds & huskies down the main drag and kids camping out in igloos in their back yards during winter. Hahaha, people overseas think lions and tigers roam our streets and that we still hunt for our pot roast with assegais. Yade will smile too - she's been here and seen for herself it's all a silly myth .... LOL Hey, enjoy your wine .... my choice of tipple is ice-cold rose.
