CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!
So the new Samsung inverter fridge with the freezer on the bottom, where it belongs, shit the bed last week. At least the fridge portion did.
From the first day (two weeks ago), it froze water in the fridge, so I adjusted the temperature down.
So anyway, yesterday DES service technicians came to look at it. I think their names were Laurel and Hardy.
They'd never worked on a Samsung inverter before but they assured me they were certified refrigeration technicians.
It was painful watching them do exploratory surgery on my friggin new 24k fridge (discounted from 29k :) )
Finally a beaming technician tells me that hey fixed it! Great!! What was the problem? "Sir, the flap was closed so we opened it".
Will it close again?
Sir we opened it.
Is is supposed to close by design?
(blank stare)
Sir we opened the flap, it's fixed...
Show me.
Behind the plastic wall inside of a Samsung inverter fridge with the freezer on the bottom is a flap that is electronically controlled by the magic inverter computer. The flap regulates cold air between the freezer on the bottom and the fridge on the top.
It's not flickin fixed, you just put a band aid on the problem, what happens when it closes again.
Sir you can open the flap, we will show you.
So I have to take the plastic wall off and open the flap while my food spoils again? (about 3k spoil already)
(Blank stare)
Tempers rising so I call my wife and explain what they're telling me as there must be an interpretation problem.
She talks to them and nope, that's what they said.
Somehow between myself and my wife, we get it across to the techs that the flap is supposed to close and open. They decide to order a new flap, should be in from Manila in a week.
How the fuck do they know the flap nneds replacing and not the magic inverter computer?
I'm done with the techs they can leave.
We go to DES and wait for the manager to get back from the bathroom for about 20 minutes. (I think she knew we were there)
So I calmly explain what happened and tell her I would like a replacement.
Sir, is the fridge working now
I don't even know, your technicians don't have a clue what was wrong with it, I have zero confidence in it, I've been a good DES customer spending almost 400K in the last year and a half.
Sir I will speak with the technicians
So I go to the fridge she has on display and point out where the flapper is and make the univerisal flapper motions with my hands, warm, cold, colder etc...
This draws every employee in the store to see me flapping around. For the record there were 5 employees and no customers.
After about 4 more retellings of the story and sticking to my guns that I want her to go up here chain of command to authorize a replacement, and getting more and more animated (never lost my cool).
Then she asks my wife a question in Visayan, my wife repeats my story in a sweet Visayan accent, and throws in something like "please mam, he threw away my mayanaise", that gets a laugh.
Their tone changes immediately and they assure me they will request a new fridge, wtf, she said the same things I did.
And what's with the mayanaise? I was always taught if it's not in the ref for a hour or so, chuck it. My wife tells me they leave it out for weeks at a time. Same thing with eggs.
Have I been lied to all my life?
Wonder if I should post this upstairs f
