Why can’t I just tell the truth?

I lie about the most ridiculous things. Even when things are going well and there's no stress.   


I know I'll get caught eventually, but I still do it. It's partly due to my anxiety issues, and it's easier to push things off, or lie, rather than deal with life head on. 


It's cost me a marriage, issues with my children, and difficulty in my current relationship. I need to take a different path starting now! I just want the last 20-30 years of my life to be peaceful, honest and healthy.

Same here - except that I never got to have an actual family and am sure that my spouse has not idea who I really am. Have lied about really small stuff to amazing, ridiculous things. I do it because I truly don't think anyone would like/care about me if I didn't lie. It is the worst kind of insecurity that comes across as bravado.
And yes, all I want is the the last years of my life to be peaceful.

Can’t stop lying. Stupid stuff to the huge things like finances. Keep hurting the people around me. Want to stop, but keep falling back to the same patterns. I’m afraid it’s too late to save my marriage. I don’t want that and it really hurts.
