I am a compulsive , pathological liar who has always functioned normally in plain sight. Lately I have been lying , while simultaneousy

sliding down a finacial pit that has worsened after losing my job--I've had to give my wife access to evry account and email I have.

I have gotten more depressed and my lying and the guilt i have is at the center--I need some help

Hey, dcsaturn61. I don't know your exact story, but I definitely know by experience being a compulsive pathological liar. The first step is already finished, you have acknowledge, whether by confessing it, or being found out, that there is something wrong with you and that you want to change. I know how depressing and shameful it is as a man to have allowed ourselves to get to such low points of our humanity. I share with your struggle. I'm working through a lot myself, but God has delivered me and taught me how to tell the truth. What causes you to lie?
Are you lying about everything or just specific behaviors?
Are you lying mainly to hide failures?
Or are you lying because you're afraid of people knowing the true you?
Are you familiar with intimacy aversion?
