Whats your go to cook book? 


Yes i know a lot of us are home cooks or have worked in kitchen (yes iam dish pig from way back) but most people have that one cook book that they will always go to. For me its the CWA cook book full of good basic recipes that anyone can make.

My great grandparents cookbook. Written in 1888.

I have a lot of cookbooks. But I like the simple old fashion ways. Plus I like to see the bits of old food still splattered on many pages. Knowing someone in past generations had used the book for this recipe or that.

Its still in good condition and has many illustrations.

Lol my one is the same bits of food on it, pages almost falling out but full of grans notes as well, some for the best ones are the old ones.

Good question. Growing up, mother was not a cook, but father was. I would always be his helper when he did the cooking, but he cooked from memory. No cookbooks to hand down, just learned those. Got my Betty Crocker cookbook as a marriage gift, but was constantly adjusting recipes. Did get some old recipes from friends over the years. Acquired many specialty cookbooks over the years, but now just head for the internet. Hugs for all.

Same as my parents. Fannie Farmer and Campfire Cooking, which deals with wild game. I also am a big fan of Tosca Reno's eat clean books, and cooking light magazine.
