For the 2+ decades since I was diagnosed with CMT I’ve suffered severe enough night pain to keep me awake one or two nights a week. I thought the issue was my feet being too cold, and tried everything to keep them warm. It finally dawned on me that if this were the case I would have the same pain in the evenings when I’m reading or watching TV. I began to suspect it was not warmth but weight that my feet needed. So, I tried ankle weights, one around each ankle and one around each instep. It seemed to work. Then, I eliminated the weights around the ankles with continued success. I then suspected it was not the weight but the pressure, so I switched to forearm bands used for tennis elbow, again one around each instep. I am happy to say that the night pain is pretty much nonexistent. The only time I seem to have it is after playing pickleball on two consecutive days. The bands need to be fairly snug to work, but of course you don’t want them so snug your toes turn black and fall off. I hope others find this beneficial.
