This group is for people who have Myofascial Pain Syndrome- anyone with a diagnosis of MPS is welcome to join. Our mandate is to provide support, information, and friendship to people with MPS.
It sounds like trigger points. You need to find someone who deals with trigger point therapy (myotherapist is a good start) and is willing to go over other areas of your body and check for satellite trigger points that can exacerbate your quads. The ones you have found and dealt with are not necessarily the only ones causing you trouble. A good therapist will know this and go looking. You will be surprised where they can be and they may not be causing you pain in the area they are found but keep triggering your quads. If you don't get these sorted out the trouble will not go away.
The reason you might get more pain is you have overworked the area and bruised the muscle. This may not show on the skin but if the area is tender to touch as well as giving pain then you have. Try not to over do the release just press carefully until you get a 7/10 pain and hold until the pain goes down to a 2/10 then stop.
I would recommend going to a therapist at least 3 times ( as long as they are not causing more pain) before knowing if the person is the right one for you.
