Chronic myelogenous leukemia affecst the balance of blood cells in the body, disrupting the normal balance. The cancer cells eventually begin to outnumber and push out the good cells, and could lead to anemia and easier bleeding/bruising. Just received my latest PCR results and it's not a pretty picture. The number of copies doubled from 5.7 to 11 during the past three months. Has anyone on the board experienced an increase in the number of copies and how was it handled. Any information will be appreciated.
I haven't experienced this, but if it were me, I'd get another PCR test just to make sure the last test was accurate.
If you are experiencing an increase, you can get a mutation test to see if you have ABL-T315I mutation (I'm assuming you are on Sprycel?). Ponatinib in the only current TKI which deals with this mutation.
