Chronic myelogenous leukemia affecst the balance of blood cells in the body, disrupting the normal balance. The cancer cells eventually begin to outnumber and push out the good cells, and could lead to anemia and easier bleeding/bruising. If you or a loved one is diagnosed with CML, this is the community to discuss your experience.
I am 73 years old. Was diogniesd as CML with 90 % PH+ve on May 11. 1994. I have started with drug "INTERFERONE ALFA-A (SC Inj.)with dose of 9 milions IU a Day and taken it for 7 years. During this period Iwas suffering from Fever up to 102.5 F and body pain constantly. In December 1996 PH+ % was nil even though i have continued till January, 2001. At this stage PH+ % showed almost 100%. Means I am failure to interferon. Meanwhile in july 2001 FDA approved pill "GLEVEEC" and started it from 25th july, 2001 with a dose of 400mg/day this drug last till August 2011 and BCR-ABL/ABL % shows 100 % +. Means again i was failure to GLEEVEC. But onather drug is waiting for me named pill 'SPRYCEL" (DASATINIB).I have started this and till i am on it. My BCR-ABL/ABL % trend shows as belloe.
December 2011: 5.85 %, June 2012: 2.02 %, December 2012: 0.07 %, March 2014: LESS THAN DETECTABLE LIMIT, April 2015 : LESS THAN DETECTABLE LIMIT , August 2016 : NOT DETECTED , April 2017 waiting for report hoping for good.
Now is there any body who guide me to quite drugs and relive me from side effects which i am suffering from last 23 years.

Was started every day for a few months. I also make some of my own piece of tar twice a day forever. But cut the Gleevec to ever other days. Blood is moving in the right direction, some perfect. I have gone to unbelievable with pain in all past areas
