Hi,
I was wondering whether anyone could give me any advice on the possibility of me having CKD.
Short medical history, i have immune disease (Lupus), endometriosis, osteoporosis amongst other things.
For about 2 years now i have had severe pain in my lower right side, with nausea (that keeps me awake), migraines, weakness, fatigue, either frequent or infrequent trips to the loo.
Problem is every time they do a kidney test it's negative..but im also taking meds that CKD patients use because of my kidneys.
A few docs have been convinced i have something going on and need a biopsy regardless of tests cause i have symptoms, but alll the urologists won't go ahead and do it.
In your experience, or from someone else you know, id it possible to have CKD but for it not to show up in non-invasive tests?

A renal biopsy is an invasive test and not usually done unless indicated - certain criteria must be met. It is very helpful in determining the cause of the problem most of the time. Correct diagnosis is essential when the cause of the problem is treatable - so that treatment can be initiated before the damage becomes extensive.
How do you feel now? Has anything changed?
