Sue things have been a little shaky with our family's work too. The company that my husband and son work for is oil field related and so far has not had to lay off but they did cut back on the guarenteed number of hours they receive. My husband was receiving 45hrs per week guarenteed and now it's only 40. Of course we are grateful for the 40 but it's still a bite into our income since my input is only disability.

My son-in-law works on a drilling rig and they have had a huge number of layoffs. Many of their rigs are "stacked" or not working. A few weeks ago they laid off 2 of the men in my sil's crew and bumped down the boss to a lesser position. Every time they go out it's a waiting game to see if they still have a job or not.

The bad part is that there are no other jobs available in our area if he were to leave or get laid off. There have been so many layoffs in our area that it has gotten scary.

Thankfully my husband and I are at a point where our home is paid for and we don't have very many bills but we do depend on his job for my insurance and pharmacy benefits. I have medicare but we all know that doesn't pay very well.

My daughter-in-law doesn't work because she stays home to care for our two grand daughters. Any job she would get, if she could find one, would be useless after paying for daycare and gas. My daughter is in her final days of college and is only working part-time at the hospital. Her biggest fear is that after graduation she won't be able to find a full-time job after going to school all this time.

My husband and I will try to do all we can to help if needed but we aren't rolling in the money here! lol I guess we will just have to keep praying that things work out and depend on God to provide for us just like He always has.

Hi Sylvia, I am sorry to read of the stresses you& your family are going through. It is world wide & people are struggling everywhere. I know what you mean about less hours still cutting in. A lot of companies here have offered half work, which means one week on one off, this way they still have work but most are struggling.
Our Primeminister has finally announced today that Australia is in a recession (had been trying to downplay it).
I hope your husband & sil are both able to keep their work even though the stress would be ongoing as always worried about what is happening. I am glad that you & your husband are almost at the point of owning your home, that would be a relief in this day & age.

I've been spending more time caring for my wife's needs, and been left with less time to read and post in DS. I still think about all my dear friends here, and how much they've done to boost my spirit.

Give her faith and hope in her future...cover her with your feathers and let her trust under your wings...father God I speak healing in her body from the top of her head to the souls of her feet..send your warmth and healing love. I rebuke MS off her body in the name of Jesus for by your stripes we our healed. I thank you that her legs are being strengthened and that her muscles are renewing their strength and that she is going to mount up with wings as an eagle..I thank you that you are going to give her a mighty testimony and a mighty healing that all men will wonder of!
I thank you that even though she is going through the waters you will be with her and when she is going through the rivers they will not over flow her and when she walks through the fire she will not be burned! Oh God you did not say we do not have to go through the rivers or the water or the fire but you said you would be with us and the fore would purify us and make us pliable like soft gold that has been heated and all the impurities removed..Teach us your ways oh god and strengthen us and help us in our time of need..Father bless Sue and her husband and hold them in your hands!
