That may depend on which translation you're reading...if its Kings James, then no wonder...personally, i prefer the New American, its what we (Roman Catholics) use at Mass. It was translated in the 60's I believe after Vatican II. Anyways...
I dont have a particular verse that's my absolute favorite. And I cant give you book, chapter, and verse. But here's a few that I like.
"I am the Good Shepherd"
"I am the living water, and he that drinks of me shall never thirst."
"This is how they will know if you are one of my disciples; if you have love for one another."

i don't remember all too well, but paraphrased it meant that you should help everyone in need, even your enemies and the ones you don't especially like.
