This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.
On June 12 of this year, I left Oklahoma for Arkansas. My mother had her ankle repaced. She would not be able to put weight on her foot for atleast a month. After her surgery they canged that to six weeks. The good news is that she got a walking put on the 30th of July.
But this is a story of acceptance. I may or may not have spoken of my desire and regret that I have nevere been able to contribute to my family finacially. Years ago my pastor told me that the Lord had me where He wanted me for a reason beyond my ken. I didnt accept that. I wanted to work. I wanted to be able to buy things for my husband or my daughter without feeling like I was just a burden. I wanted to pay for my for my own medical bills. Pay for my own medicine. MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
While I was at my Mom's a lot of people commented on how nice it was that I was able and willing to come out and take care of my mother. My thought was always, "She is my Mom, how could I not do it?" But then if I had had a job, would I have been able to?

I have missed your posts, your faith and love for God and others. Praise God - he had you right where you needed to be, when you needed to be there. Honoring your mother - not just with service but with love.
I'm on your mom's side as I'm stuck on the couch after an ankle break and surgery for 8 weeks. I'm in week 4 right now and have a hard time thinking this is where God wants me. Right before I broke it, I had prayed "God, this is YOUR day!"
But, back to you as caregiver ... I'd wondered the same thing for 6 years of living where I am now ... we wholeheartedly dove into this caregiving role and it went ... badly. I had a hard time believing that it was as God wanted it, as we made so many sacrifices to be/stay here and then others (the "haves") seemed to criticize us for being "have nots."
But we learned so much along the way, changed for the better, and grew up in the Lord. So, I guess he DID know what he was doing LOL.

That was beautiful. I think for me anyway acceptance is difficult. It's hard to know when to stop and accept or keep trying. The Holy Spirit guides us in this type of decision.
Thanks to our beautiful Father we share I no longer struggle with this nearly as much. And as you said, and others testified to also, sometimes we can look back at our lives and see why things were the way they were. (even though it made zippo sense at the time.)
This too is a beautiful experience and absolute proof of a much higher power than ourselves. There are no coincidences. Thank you for sharing . I love your list Norma, it is so so very true and something I never thought of to list. I used to love making up lists, kinda like a hobby, I omitted the best one. I shall add this to my book of lists, thank you!! Hope you are getting some rest.
