Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.
I'm so sorry to hear about your anxiety and PTSD. I have anxiety issues to and respond alot like you or I shut down and don't move or talk for hours. My point being, everyone with anxiety probelms responds differently and you ARE NOT AT ALL crazy. I am curious about where you were reading in the Bible because I can't think of the verse you are talking about off the top of my head. Yes, its true we can invite evil back into our lives and let the enemy whisper in our ear but don't doubt the power of your own prayer! Yes, we all need support and combined pray but ultimately it comes down to us. We have to be willing to do the work of casting out our own demons and one of the first steps for that is to know that we need to be completely dependent on God and HIS strength, not our own. Yea, we gotta do the physical work but let God to the heavy lifting with our hearts and minds.
Our relationship with God is never, EVER about Him being angry at us. He feels our pain worse than we do because He is our Father and we are His children, and just as a father feels for his child does the Lord feel for us. He is NOT angry at you. He loves you and welcomes you and your baggage with open, accepting arms.
As for the online prayer, as long as the person is actually praying for you, who cares where the support came from. I have friends write me emails, physical letters, speak to me in person, and not tell me at all that they are praying for me. The purpose of prayer is to have the communication aspect in your realtionship with God.
I normally don't write this much but God just really put you on my heart so please know I'm praying for you.
You are more than welcome to be a part of this Christian Support Group. You are one of the reasons that this group is here. You are one of the people that this group wants to help. I promise I'll be praying for you about what you're going through, and that you get relief from God soon.
I used to think of God the Father as kind of scary, and Jesus was the "good One" because He died for me, but I thought of God the Father as hanging back and not suffering. Finally, one day I realized how Abraham was willing to slay his own son because God asked him too, and it occurred to me like a flash that that would have been horribly difficult for Abraham to be willing to say yes to, but he did.
Well, it must have been horribly difficult for God the Father to be willing for His Beloved Son to suffer and die for all of us, but the Father still asked Him to do it. I finally started to realize that God the Father made an absolutely HUGE sacrifice for me, too. It had to hurt Him terribly. That's how much the Father loves each of us. This has helped me to love Him like I love the Son and the Spirit. (I hope this helps you, it turned me around in how I feel about the Father.)
Please keep coming to our group as part of your Christian support. We want to help other Christians who are struggling. You also will get prayers from this group which are quite powerful.
By the way, I had panic attacks for awhile, and they were the most horrible things I'd ever experienced. A doctor finally put me on Effexor, which calmed me down a bit, and helped me to not be so stressed. No more panic attacks.
May God bless you. Many of us have struggled with similar things. That is why a support group can be a powerful help to you. God bless you and keep you peaceful! : )
One thing I really wanna make clear through all of this, though, is that no man (or woman) is an island. We can try all we want but everyone needs someone. Best way to start is by making Jesus that someone and then allowing him to show you the people (or resources if your considering therepy) that he has placed in your life to help you. There are some pretty spectacular people he wants you to do fellowship and life in general with if your willing to listen and follow His direction.
Still praying for you
I wish I could give you a hug. You've been through a lot. As a shy overthinker myself, I understand how the break in trust with your old church would hurt. You needed their support then when you felt like you'd damaged your relationship with God. Even the strongest of us would be shaken by that.
At this point you need to look after yourself with compassion. Accept support and let your heart relax and give that bully of a brain a push. :) Remember that all good things come from God.
What's really helped me was a book on Mindfullness that stops my thoughts from running wild (and often onto things that I'm anxious about). I get more done and feel like I'm becoming a stronger person and Christian. Even though I slip up and sin, I see every day the care and mercy of our Father at work.
Please take all love and support with two hands. There'll be a lot of people waiting for your kindness and strength.
