I think it is a little silly to take an inscription on a coin and prophecy the end of the world, or even Jesus' return. Kind of like all this nonsense about the Mayan calendar predicting the end of the world in 2012. Apparently Nostradamus thought 1999. I also don't think that God cares what is written on a penny in one of many countries in the world.

The prophecy concerning the gospel being preached "to all the nations." in Matt. 28 has not yet been fulfilled. I think if people took seriously the task of going to every tribe and every nation, we would have something to talk about. I still see people sitting in their pews, and living like the rest of the world. Not to criticize you Jenn, or anyone else. Well, maybe myself.

On the other hand, Jesus could return tomorrow. Will he find faith on the earth? Luke 18:8

He tells us to be watchful. I was not reffering to the Rapture, but to the seven year tribulation. There was another study at my church about whe uthe Raptue might happen. And it says thst only the father knows. I will try to find the scripture about the bride being ready and the bridegroom coming. In this historical/bible study of the culture and the bible; it talks of how young men were expected to build onto their father's home for his bride. The bridegroom could only go and get his bride when the father said the building was done and done well enough. So Jesus is in heaven' "Prepariing a place for us" He can only come and get us when the Fahter says its done...
And that time, no one knows. Only the Father.
Jesus does tell us to be watchful and He does tell us to look for certain signs. I enjoy prophecy; and it's okay if you don't. But I don't think it is silly. I am following the bible no human or pagan religion.

Okay, Okay, now that is just silly. I just saw on the HLN news that some people have a sign up that says Jesus w ill return May 21, 2011. THAT I scoff at. As I said and you said, "No one knows, not even the angelss in heaven. Butt's check out the website and see what's going on.

I just find prophecy to be so confusing. Not because God is confusing, but because people are. So many people have prophesied the end, the rapture, when the tribulation will be or no rapture, no tribulation, Jesus returning now, on this day, or that, I have given up looking for signs. I find that I am just looking for Jesus and serving him is what God wants me to do.

And to be ready always - by seeking God in his word and on my knees. Bless you. I heard about this May one. I wish God would strike down false prophets sometimes, like he did in the Old Testament for deceiving people. Jesus may come tomorrow, or not for a long time. But why do people set dates, when the Bible is so clearly against it?

When we studied Revelation in Seminary, we had a video from a noted professor on Revelation. He said there were 4 main views on the end, and all had good biblical support. He went through them all, and said in the end, he was just going to trust God in everything. That really helped me. That is my goal where "end times" are concerned. To trust God in everything.

I'm sorry if I came on rather strong in my other posts. I think it is great the Jenn is stepping up and starting new posts here. I think we should be able to discuss things like this, and hopefully learn from each other.

I have this bad tendency to seem like I am trying to shut down discussion, when I really want people to think. I would ask that people pray for me, that God will show me where I have gone wrong. Also, if anyone wants to send me a piece of their mind, I am always open to learn. I am a teacher by training and by gifting, which tends to make me want to be in control. I pray that everyone will forgive me if I have offended them by shutting them down. I keep saying that God wants to humble me, and then I just go back to self righteous control.

So, the topic is prophecy. Like I said, I don't really understand it, so I will not be involved so much in this discussion. I think my views are probably very different than what many of you believe, anyway. I don't want to push my opinions, but I would like to hear what others are thinking. I know Jenn would too.

pogoPalo0i, The tribulation lasts 7 years and it will not start until immediately after the rapture, when the Antichrist comes on the sceen. We will not know the exact day and time of the rapture, but we will know the season. (not in terms of winter, spring, summer or fall).
