it has been a mentally harrowing few days. My diagnosis of OCD by my psychiatrist has caused me to have a lot of depression and doubt. Doubting one's self is one of the most common symptoms, in fact, OCD is commonly called the doubting disease. This doubt has been so powerful lately, that I have felt like I'm starting to lose my faith. I'm scared that I may lose the one guiding light I've had all my life. Jesus. I feel like I can't have belief when I pray, and that scares me, as one of my main OCD rituals is praying to prevent anything bad to happen. It makes me fear like these things really could happen. I really need some encouragement right now. I want to experience that fulfillment and love that comes from Jesus, but I'm just going through such a hard time right now. I know that this is probably just a result of OCD that I'm having these doubts, but the doubts are still there. God is not going to ever leave you. He has called you and you are his child. He is the perfect father and he is always going to be there. Don't let the enemy lie to you and convince you that you have to work and do the right things to maintain your salvation. Instead
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." James 4:7
Keep praying and remember that sometimes the valleys of life is where the soil is deepest and we grow the most. Those mountain top experiences are great, but there is no soil, and a short growing season. So find out what God is teaching you and you will be blessed.
Praying gods word is finding and applying bible verses that pertain to your situation or circumstance. This is how you pray God's promises. You personalize it as if it were written just for you.
God has even made a provision for us when we are not sure what to pray for or even how to pray. sometimes we are so deep in our hurt or need and don't even know where to start paraying. It is then that the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. (Romans 8:26 ) He goes before the Father for us.
I have heard it said that Fear activates Satan, so know fear is not from God so turn it away!!! Tell Satan to leave you alone, you are Gods child.
Ephesians 2:8 tells us that faith is a gift from God. Also James 1:5-8 tells us that if we don't know how to meet any problem all we have to do is ask, this means even our doubts.
Stay in Gods Word, and there is where you will find the peace you seek.
