I think most people, even many Christians, are struggling with an addiction of some kind. Mine is overeating. I'm doing better by asking Christ to help me with everything I do. What should I do next as far as housework, or call a friend, or play a game, or read a spiritual book or even read a book for fun. He is helping me to let go of some of the junk food I'm so addicted to.

I get lonely too, but being in this group is helpful, as each day I come here to see if I can help someone or if someone says something that might help me. We are Christians here from different denominations but who are using faith in God to help us through life.

I pray that God will help you to let go totally of the porn addiction. It is so easy to find it on computer, that many men and probably women are struggling with this.

My understanding of addiction is that sometimes we try to dull our bad feelings about life with our addiction, which helps us forget how bad we might feel about other things. Addictions get in the way with our relationship with Christ. He wants to be #a in our lives. Spending time praying to Him and reading scriptures about Him helps us to love Him and to want to obey Him. His help is invaluable in overcoming our addictions or other problems.

I'm lonely fairly often, but when I god spend an hour reading spiritual books and scripture and praying, a sense of peace comes over me and relieves the bad feelings and fills me up in ways that I felt empty.

Thomsan, I understand addiction. I don't quite understand your addition. My husband seems to have this addiction, too. I am trying to understand for him.

I am sorry you are lonely. I too am lonely as I am addicted to not trusting people. I guess you can call this an addiction, because I choose to keep my distance from people from being through so much as a child and not feeling any trust for people at all. I hope your able to put your trust in God, and believe that he will bring you out of this addiction. Your not alone, we are here for you. God bless you.

Jesus loves you very much. He will not cast you out if you turn to him. The Holy Spirit is the one you need to start you on this journey of being free from this addiction.

But you also need to find an accountability partner, who will help you. As children of God we walk this road together. We are here to support and help you find freedom on Christ.

Are you reading the Bible? The Word of God is powerful! Do you have a church? The Bible commands us to worship together. And most of all, pray! Talk to Jesus, obey his word, and follow him. He will help you.

I am sorry for your loneliness and addiction. You really need a good christian support for the help you are desiring. I highly suggest this other web site. This website is Christian based. They have chaplains there for personal ministry. There is a private support group within the website to protect you from others who be tempted to verbal abuse you for addiction. I would imagine within the group there are brothers in Christ who have overcome the addiction and some who are in the midst to have victory from the addiction. Here is the link. Part of that comfort comes from fellow brothers and sisters. Admitting you're addiction was the first step!!
