I will include him and his friend in my prayers. Sometimes it's better to offer empathy, or prayers, and maybe a scripture if you think of a good one. Some people have given up their trust in the Lord if they ever had it, because Our Lord does allow bad things to happen to us, and sometimes people take this as a rejection by God and turn off on Him. This situation seems to tie in with our Utmost for His HIghest reading for today, as far as what Mr. Hastings doesn't understand. It's nice of you to ask for prayers, sometimes that's the best we can give. : )

Thank you for your encouragement and support. It means a lot to me. I have never been faced with someone that said flat out that they would not could not and did not worship God. It broke my heart. I know he needs God in his life. We all do. I just didnt know how to react to such blunt refusal of God.

I will pray for him. I know it was harsh for you, but you know, we never know when we are planting a seed that someone else will help water and can blossom sometime in the future. I guess all we can say when people do that is that this is the best part of our life and we just wanted to share it with them. Seeds .... : )

People who don't have a personal relationship with God just can't trust Him. It's hard for those of us who DO have a close relationship with God to understand why they would reject God when these hurting people need Him the most. I understand your response..you were just not expecting someone to be so rejecting of our God..the One who created us all. We can pray that maybe during this time of struggle for Mr. Hastings that God will come into his life in an extra special way. Yesterday was a hard day to get through..so many still remembering the heartache of eleven years ago. God pours out His love and grace right now, but it will be really interesting to see the future unfold....we haven't seen anything yet..it's going to be quite a ride. At least I know how the story ends for me.
Praying for this man and his friend suffering from cancer. God's tapping a lot of people on their shoulders and just saying: "I'm here for you, won't you please let Me love you?"

I have prayed that the Lord will soften his heart and that those words you spoke, that the Lord will use them to draw him. I find it very difficult to encourage someone who doesn't want to hear about the Lord. But we can pray.

Thank you all for your prayers. The life of a person is nothing compared to the fate of his/her soul. We all die, but we wont all end up with Jesus. That is the most important thing. There is life after death. The life of our souls that God gives to us. I pray for unbelievers everywhere. It is important to me that they become my brothers and sisters in Christ. I had just never come face to face with

someone so adament.

Being around people who are "so adament" as you put it..well, I grew up in a Non-Christian family, and I have sisters who are just like Mr. Hastings. My sisters are very hostile towards anything remotely "Christian". I have been around that "evil spirit of Christ rejection" most of my life. It is shocking for people who are not used to hearing the insults etc... but to those of us who are familiar with it, it is not surprising at all to us. Like others have put it..the only solution is to PRAY for them and we can "rebuke" this evil spirit and ask God to help us cope when the insults are directed at us personally. I should know..I have to do this almost every day. God is faithful, and He protects me.
