Last night, I couldn't sleep. My OCD and anxiety were driving me crazy, and the Zoloft wasn't helping. I was at the bottom of the pit, not sure what to do. I cried out in prayer, "Jesus, where are you, where are you?" I was so scared. I tried hard to just sit back and relax. I began to become dazed, almost in limbo between being asleep and being awake. I was looking in the direction of my door. All of the sudden, I saw a light behind the door. It was a bright, almost divine light. It was only a flash. But then, not ten seconds later, I saw a glimpse of what looked like an Angel. It had the body of a man, but with wings. This too was only a flash, but long enough to be perceptible. Then I looked again, and it was as if my door was being opened. Then, I saw that it was not. I thought I might've been hallucinating from the Zoloft, but the more I think about it, the more I think this was God's mercy, sending me an Angel for re-assurance. Also, the vision of the opening door is a little intriguing. I wonder, could the door have been a symbol of me holding the angel back? I saw it clearly, and the door really did look like it was being opened, but it wasn't opened. Perhaps this was a message telling me to have stronger faith, to let God in. I thought I had been, but maybe this was a sign. Or, it could've not meant anything at all, it may have just been a message of reassurance. What do you guys think? I know I wasn't dreaming.

I had a chill come up my spine as I was reading your post .Averysimilar experience happened to me,around 20 years ago. my mother had passed many years before that. It was a big change going on for me duing this time when I also saw what appeared to be an angel. I wasin bed,hubby asleep.I was speecless,yet not frightened,It was like time was suspended. I knew that Iwanted to be my mother..but it was an image,with no facial details.
then the moments passed. I lay there staring at the ceilng for quitesometime,then drifted off to sleep.it was almost like a halo effect,billowing light.very real to me.next morning,shared that with husband,but thought for sure would say,right!!!n,he just said really?in a sincere way. just another mystery.I wasn't on any medication :) oh that too,we closed our door at night and the angel/vision-who really knows but they were in the doorway..just thought it perculiar our experience was so similar!
When I was a kid they told me I had a guardian angel, but as I got older, I figured that was just more of the same, like Santa Claus. Several years ago I read that we actually each do have a guardian angel, One day I was praying and I said outloud, "Well, if I have a guardian angel, can you tell me your name?" and I heard in my head very very soft, whispered: "solace". That is not a word I use, but if you knew my life, you would know there could be no better name for my angel. It's very comforting to know he's there and also to know his/her/it's name. : ) Judy
