When I used to think about heaven all I could think of was that I would have a whole body, a whole mind, and peace in my heart. That was what was most important to me. As I grew in my walk with the Lord, I came to know that heaven is being in the presence of the Lord. We can have that here on Earth. It is hard to hang onto with all the realities of this world crashing down an you.
When we are in heaven He will be everything to us. He will be with us always. I can't wait! The bible tells us that Jesus is preparing a place for us. Because He wants us with Him. Because He loves us.
Yesterday at 1:18 p.m. my little dog's heart stopped. I had taken him to the vet to have him put down because he was just so old and so sick. The vet examined him and said that he had probably had a heart attack and/or a stroke. I had had him since he was ten days old. The momma dog quit feeding the puppies. I had fed him with an eye-dropper and then a premi bottle until he was old enough to be weaned. I had had him for 17 years. In my grief, I had a momentary thought that if Jesus loved me, he would have B.U.D. (Butt Ugly Dog) waiting for me when I finally come home.
My pastor says that there is a place in heaven for everything on Earth. I don't know if B.U.D. will be there or not, but it brought me comfort. I keep looking over at his bed looking for him. I guess it will take a few days...
