Christian Support Group Community Group
This is a place for everyone who loves Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (or those who are seeking Him), to come and discuss important issues in their lives and find support from fellow believers in regards to their faith and life. We uphold the Bible and living a Christ-like life, not as a way to heaven, but as a reflection of our love for God.
And yes, OA is very normal, and it won't kill you. Sometimes we focus on the little hurts in our bodies, when it is the mind calling for help.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding,
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Prov. 3:5-5
I meditated for 2 solid years on the above verse and it really helped me trust that God was in control. Memorize it, and repeat it slowly, thinking about the words, and who God is, and how he loves you.
As far as anxiety here are a few verses for you.
"Say to those who have an anxious heart, “Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”" Isa. 35:4
"“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?" Matt 6. 25-26
"Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! 25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 26 If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?" Luke 12:24-26
"do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Phil. 5:6-7
Praying for you, Thomson!
Thomson, it is not easy to give God total control. It can be a long, hard process. But, it can happen!!!
