Amen! We can take our burdens to the Lord in prayer.

One of the best movies I have ever seen. When it was in the theater, I gave a young lady I know money so she and her boyfriend and son could go. On the way home, their 9-year-old son was sitting in the backseat and he leaned forward, put a hand on each of his parents' backs and prayed. Now that's powerful!!

Yes. Prayer is powerful.

The movie is life changing. My war room is now my 'safe haven with our God'. I walk in burdened, I walk out renewed. It's still a work in progress, not the room, me…

I was praying yesterday and 'listening' and felt the Lord reminded me know He loaned me two wonderful sons, (one of which is estranged due to marital issues,) and then He whispered to me that He gave up His only son for me. It truly put things in perspective. I try to remember His exact whisper each time my heart begins to ache.

I pray for each parent with Estranged children and the children also…

Oh yes, I loved this movie. My husband and I watched it together. I don't have a big closet like she did, but I do have my prayers written down on pages and I pray out loud over them, lifting up each name and burden to the Lord. Prayer is our weapon against the evils of the world.

bcarelady....that is very thought provoking....that God loaned us our sons.....it is so hard for me to think of it that way......and that he Gave up his son......that also is so hard for me........I guess that is why I am not GOD....LOL but I am trying each day to let go.....it is not an easy thing when I lived for my son for the past 25 years.....

bcarelady--- wonderful thought! Could this be an example of unselfishness ? God gave us his only son for a purpose on our behalf. Are we able to give back to God our ec for his purpose? We do not understand estrangement. I believe greater things are yet to come!!!! There is a reason God has allowed estrangement.
The saying, "Let go and Let God" comes to mind.

And I have also heard, although not bibical, is that we are to raise up our children and when they become adults, we need to let go. Like a bird who has wings to fly. The tighter we hold on, oftentimes the harder they work at getting away from us. It is the natural process of life.

I know I didn't live with my parents after I became an adult. I would never want to. I wanted to be on my own. I always called them every week and drove the 2.5 hours to spend every other weekend with them. But I needed to lead my own life, and they trusted me to do that.

I also learned that the less they held onto me, the more I wanted to be with them.

Thank you all so much for your comments and support. I've been extremely sad these few past days crying out to the Lo ard about missing ES and grandchildren. However, your posts have helped me more than I can say and I feel an answer to my cries to the Lord. Yes, He gave His Only Son for us so who am I to feel sorry because I don't have my ES. He is in charge of all and I so need to get my thinking right on that. It helps so much to be with you. Some times I don't go here for a few days then realize God has messages sent through all of you. God bless and I pray for each of you. This has put a whole new light on estrangement. I am still getting organized with my prayers, articles, Bible quotes, etc and finishing My War Room. Yes, as powerful as that movie is, I've been dragging my feet. Now after today/s reading of your messages, I know God is working through all of us to help one another and I can finish some things today. A War Room is a constant changing and growing place but I feel empowered to now go and do what I need to do. God bless each of you and thank you so very much - from the bottom of my heart. (I guess that I was still fighting with evil and not totally surrendering to God but it is time to give it to God and let Him do the battle)
