Hi friends! Well, my daughter is doing really well! Last time I wrote to you I found out she had been released from the rehab after 21 days. She is going on an outpatient basis, which means she goes every day, all day. I have actually talked to her counselor a few times and we had a telephone family session we me, the counselor and my daughter. It went very well. She wants to have a relationship with me, but she wants to be the initiator. That's fine! She has some childhood issues...I'm sure because I wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed....and I'm trusting God will work them out! I was very controlling and fear based in bringing up my daughter. God has showed me these areas and I have asked for forgiveness and given it back to God. He has healed me from so many issues of fear, anxiety and panic problems. He is amazing and awesome and I stand as a testimony to how He can change any circumstance. Thank you so much for all of your support! I will keep you posed!

Life....This is such wonderful news! I am so happy for both you and your daughter. It sounds like she is taking this very seriously and I think it is good that she is taking it slowly. Too much too fast can create setbacks and we don't want to see that. Praise God for this turnaround in her heart.

Life....I think that everyone grows up with some degree of issues in their relationships with their parents. Kids start on their path to independance at about the age of 4-5 beginning with wanting their freedom to explore their neighborhoods. They want to make their own decisions about who their friends are and how far they can go. Then there is the teenage years and the battles between the parents and their wanting to stay out all hours of the night. And remember their "friends" that they had sometimes that we just sat back and shook our heads over? We all had "issues" but having issues doesn't mean that we failed as parents or have to take the responsibility for their own mistakes later on in life. So, don't be so hard on yourself.

Yes, there are parents that should never have had children, but there is no way that I can see that in you.

Leviticus 1918 ".......you shall love your neighbor as yourself..." So, dear friend, don't be more harder on yourself than God is. See the good in yourself so your daughter can too.
